Artist Impression

And finally the artist impression. We used Adobe Photoshop to place our booth inside a shopping mall and make the situation looks real. There is also a 3d human model in the exhibition booth.

Phase 2 - 3d Rendering

This is our final design for 3d rendering in TOP, FACADE, SIDE and 3/4 VIEW. The 3d rendering is created by using 3ds Max.

Phase 2 - Sketch

In Phase 2 of our Project 2, we have to make 2 pages of 3D Renderings on A3 mounted on black mounting board. This is the sketch of the exhibition booth we create using Google Sketchup.

Less is more, more is less

From my understanding, less is more or more is something like the quality over the quantity. When we creating a design, sometimes a simple design which has a deep meaning can make a good design which is ‘less is more’.

If a designer creates a design that is very beautiful and perfect but it doesn’t have any meaning but just a random art, that doesn’t make it a good design because that is called ‘more is less

Phase 1 - Re-do

After the re-do, this is our final design of the concept board, exhibition profile, layout, facade, and side elevation.

Phase 1

For the Exhibition Booth Project, it must be done in a group of 2 person. We must choose 1 product from our bus stop design and make it to exhibition booth. My group member is Mohd Azif and we decided to make my product which is Yeo's in our exhibition booth. In Phase 1 of Project 2, we need to do the Concept Board, Exhibition Profile, Layout, Front, and Side Elevation Drawings.

This is our first attempt which we did a few mistake and need to re-do.

Exhibition Booth Design

Our second assignment or Project 2 is creating an Exhibition Booth Design. Exhibition booth is usually placed in shopping malls to easily reach the public while promoting their products. Below are some example of exhibition booth design.

Le Modulor

Le  modulor is a system of measurement proposed byLe Corbusier and his colleagues in the 1940’s by the French architect. The modulor is based on the dimensions and proportions of the human body for example; from the sitting human body to standing human body. The movement is increasing little by little.

The purpose of the modulor was to introduce an element based on human dimensions into modern architecture and artistic design. The modulor was used constantly in a number of Le Corbusier’s projects and has great influence on world architecture, especially in designs.

Designs for bus stop

This is all the designs for my bus stop, 'Naturally Refreshing'.

Creating a bus stop model

The items I used to create the bus stop model is a box as the container of the bus stop model, scissor, cutting mat, paper knife, hard paper, metal ruler, PVA glue and spray mount.

First Assignment

Our first assignment is creating bus stop ads. Every student need to choose any Malaysian product and create the design on a bus stop model. I chose Yeo’s beverages product and the theme is ‘Naturally Refreshing’. I need to make the Yeo’s design on the bus stop looks really refreshing and creative.

Form follows function or function follows form?

Is it FORM follows function or FUNCTION follows form? Normally they both need to follow each other. Form need to follow function and function need to follow form. It is like making a plan to make a design by using form first followed by the function. Function also can be done first followed by the form to make it more efficient on the functionality. It really depends on the individual on which they want to use on making a design because by using any of them can create a perfect design.

Bus Stop Ads

This is few example of unique bus stop ads. The design is totally creative and can attract many people. I think it's better to have this kind of bus stop than a normal boring bus stop. At least it can generate ideas to become more creative.
